We took a group of a dozen of us and sailed down the Nile for five days in our absolutely beautiful Dahabiya. We had the whole boat to ourselves and it was the most peaceful and relaxing holiday I've had for a long time -- made better by the daily jaunts to land to meet locals, see amazing ancient sites, and join in local daily life like bread making and fishing. I never expected I'd be swimming in the Nile, but the water was beautiful. The feasts we had on deck for every meal were fantastic, and the crew were delightful. I'll always remember their music and dancing in the evening as a highlight of the trip. Oh, and learning some hieroglyphics on the way was also super cool.

I sailed at the end of December with my sister and two friends from Aswan to Luxor. We chartered the dahabiya for 4 nights/5 days. It was a wonderful experience. The boat was spacious and clean. The captain and crew were amazing - very friendly and hospitable. The food was fantastic!!! Thank you for making our winter holiday and New Year a memorable one. We also had a guide on board Ali, who took is to the sites along the way. He was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with.

We wanted a real Nile experience, not one of the big cruise boats. A dahabiya was perfect and we just loved this trip. The dahabiya only accommodated a max of 12 people and we were fortunate that there were 4 of us on board, two couples. We visited a lot of sites that the big boats can't get to, including the quarry from which the temple stones came, and a local farmhouse (which grew mangoes and bananas). The crew were very friendly, the egyptologist excellent and the chef fantastic. In fact the best food on our longer trip to Egypt was on the dahabiya. It was wonderfully peaceful sailing along the Nile and we did a lot more sailing than we expected. We were pleased that we had taken warm clothing with us as Jan is winter in Egypt and it can be cold at night, especially as we chose to be outside at night
